Unread e-mail for May 10th 2006.

OK so the Yankees got their *** kicked by Beckett and the Sox, but my fantasy teams are doing OK.

Here is the unread e-mail of the day and a recurring theme for the show.

Kunal:

Hey guys,

I gotta request this again.  Can you broadcast pitch and ditch for the current day as well as a couple of the best ones for the next day?  I am in a yahoo league which has transactions for the next day, plus I am an podcast listener.  So I cant check the broadcast until that evening, after your recs already started.  Otherwise you guys are awesome…def hooked to the podcast.

Siano with the blessing of Schwartz:

Kunal and the many others who have requested this here is my reasoning for not doing this. It simply takes up too much time. With incredible response you the listeners have provided to us knuckleheads I still leave each show with remorse because it is now literally impossible to get every e-mail or IM in much less the daily pitch or ditch sequence and the phone calls. I will admit something. I love taking the calls. I am from the old school sports radio world and as a fan loves the caller segments. I feel for the people who can’t call in because they are working, in class etc….

We have also been nudged to make the show 2 hours a day. Trust us we would love to! Unfortunately Cory and I have desks begging us to come back to them at noon each day and I swear to you even with two hours a day we would not be able to read every e-mails and IM’s.

Back to Kunal. Here is my meet everyone mid way solution for you Yahooers and shame on you! Just Kidding. When you send your e-mails to fantasy411@mlb.com put in the subject line yahoo. I will sort by subject each show and hit those e-mails as quickly as we can to try and ease the yahoo pain a little.

Enjoy the podcast and hope this helps some.

For more fantasy insight catch me and Cory weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on the MLB.com Fantasy 411. For more info go to www.mlbradio.net.

My streak on the line
Each and every time I’ve been to the Stadium, we have won and Jason Giambi has hit a homer.. Not one to put curses on things, I predict both streaks will stay alive tonight

I’d like to add myself to the list of loyal listeners that would love to see the show go to 2 hours. If not for all 5 days a week, what about just Monday and Fridays to give extra time to cover the weekends?

As I’m trolling through the Archives, as I like to do, it’s always cool to go back to 2004 when you guys were 2 hours a day. Of course, you were only 3 days a week back then.

Another interesting thing about checking out the archives, it’s amazing to see how far the show has come. These days, the entire show is sometimes filled with callers, where as in the old days, it was almost a surprise when someone called.

One thing I’ve noticed, callers take up much more time, so Mike if you want the calls to continue and increase, we need more show time!

You guys are doing great. Keep it Up!

How about just doing the pitch or ditch for the next day? If you do pitch and ditch for the next day you’ll have more people depending on your info and therefore more people will visit your site and listen. As it is now the only people who can use your recomendations are those who have minute by minute transactions. It seems to me that your cutting out a lot of fantasy players. Pitch and ditch already isn’t useful for people who have weekly tranasctions. If you do the next day rather than the current your making it more accesible for more of your listeners. Thanks for the consideration. AC.

Hi Guys,
I’m an enthusiastic supporter of the Two Hours Show suggestion. If not everyday then at least twice a week.

Like many other listeners I listen to the podcast AND play on a yahoo league so pitch and ditch for the next day would be very usefull not that the show isn’t usefull as is :)

Currently Pitch or Ditch takes up quite a bit of time and is only useful for leagues where you can make same day transactions (and last minute transactions for podcast listeners).

Wouldn’t it make more sense to look ahead for the next few days and just focus on guys realistically available on the wire in most leagues?

I promise I’ll play Draft and Trade next year if you make this change!!

Keep up the great work.
