Three years ago at Wrigley I got to the game early because that is what Cub Fans do. I sat in my favorite Left-Center field bleacher seats (Right Field Sucks, Right Field Sucks) and just watched in amazement. I wasn’t watching the hitting display that Ramirez and Burnitz was putting on during batting practice, instead I watched Greg Maddux shag BP fly balls. This guy looked like he was a little kid out there having so much fun, joking around – just enjoying the “opportunity” to be on the field. I sat there and thought how can someone that has been doing this for 20 some years look like he is a rookie out here “living his dream.” I have to think that Maddux is one of the greatest gifts to the game in the past 25 years.
