Neither Mike nor Cory nailed any of these exactly, and quite honestly, neither did well in general. Both were right about Salty, but after that, the negatives far outweigh the positives. Mike’s Carmona and Kendrick picks were solid while his Hamilton selection is about as bad as it gets! Also, Lowell, Shields, and Hart all went on to have productive years. Cory’s best pick? Chad Cordero. His worst? How about Adrian, Manny, Halladay, and Oswalt. The edge once again goes to Siano.

Okay guys, your unwritten rules say it’s not cool to pick up starting pitchers at this time of year for the sole purpose of blocking your opponents from picking them up, or picking them up and then just dropping them so they are unavailable to anyone. However, what about picking up some of the better starters just in case you need to use them. I’m leading my league by 5 points, but I have 2 guys on my tail in wins (including the 2nd place team), and I may need to chase wins this weekend. A couple of guys are available with favorable matchups (Scott Baker, Cha Seung Baek, a few guys vs. Seattle). Hopefully, the 2nd place team runs out of innings before he catches me in wins, in which case I can bench my starters and fall on the ball in ERA and WHIP. But if he gets 2 more wins than me between now and Sunday, I may need those guys. Observations?

Go for it. This is by no means unethical. It’s called being a competitive owner. Good luck!
