Cameron Remains a Brewer

***The 411 will be returning on Tuesday, November 11th and will air each Tuesday and Thursday from 2-2:30 pm ET.

Well this takes away one of the Yankees’ center field options!  You know the deal with Cameron.  Power, some speed, and a terrible average.  Getting up there in age but still a solid late round pick.

Outfielder Signed Through Next Season

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers today exercised the 2009 club option for outfielder Mike Cameron.  The announcement was made by Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Melvin.

Cameron, 35, batted .243 with 25 HR, 70 RBI and 17 stolen bases in 120 games during his first season with the Brewers.  He made 119 starts, all in center field, and committed only one error the entire year.  He finished just three stolen bases short of his sixth career 20/20 season.

Cam did pretty much what everyone expected him to do, and going 25-17 with a 25-game suspension is pretty impressive. As a Brewer fan, his defense probably means the most. This is a nice move if they really want to contend next year. Next up: CC. Call it “mission: impossible.”

Glad to hear the show is coming back soon. Let the keeper questions begin!

If you can take the BA, Cameron is a nice mid-round OF option. My OBP league makes him a laaate round grab, but the low walk count hurts.
