No to Joba, but yes to Maholm? Seriously?
Just a reminder…with September (and roster expansion) upon us, teams will not need to use the DL, so players who get hurt after Sept. 1 will usually just stay on the roster. Pay closer attention to injuries. In non-keeper leagues, don’t be afraid to drop a star player if a DL-type injury happens. Sometimes teams will come right out and say that a player won’t be back this year, but other times, they may act optimistic for a player’s return, or won’t say anything at all, in which case YOU have to be the judge as to whether or not the player will be useful again this season. Teams that are out of it will sometimes be overprotective of their star players, and not risk a further injury, instead opting to play younger players. Also, sometimes a veteran player might opt to stay off the field for an injury for which he would otherwise play if his team were in the playoff hunt.

PS I’m starting Brett Anderson today, which means he will get CRUSHED, but his numbers have been pretty good lately.
