Hey guys,

When will the podcast return to daily?
Thanks,
TP

So which of these guys do you see making the biggest impact during the course of the season?

Eric,

Hard to say but if I had to pick one, it would be Wheeler, assuming of course that he can get over the oblique injury. Scouts love the guy and you can guarantee that there will be an open spot in the Mets’ rotation for him when he does arrive. And I’d be surprised if it wasn’t by mid-June.

Zach

I have been offered a trade in a keeper league. I get Gordon (21 round), Markakis (10), and a 15th round pick in 2014 for Wainwright (17), Parnell (20), and a 20th round pick in 2014. I could use some more rbi’s which is why I am pondering this trade. I have decent pitching with Verlander, Lynn, Niese, Soriano, Romo, G. Holland, K. Jansen, and Beachy & Madsen ready to go on the DL and pick up 2 more pitchers. I was thinking of countering and replacing Markakis with either Haren or Kuroda to soften the blow of loosing Wainwright. Do I accept the trade as is, decline the trade altogether, or should I counter the offer and if so with what pitcher? Thanks Zach. Keep up the awesome job!

Ron,

That’s a pretty fair trade but I’d lean towards no just because I feel that Wainwright is the best keeper here. Even if we call the Wainwright to Gordon swap a wash, I don’t think you’re getting a whole lot of value with Markakis, certainly a lot less value than you have with Parnell. Depending on Kuroda/Haren’s round values, I might be open to the revised deal.

Zach

Zach,

Im just curious what you think about Zimmerman vs longoria. I accepted a trade offer today of longoria and Nathan for Zimmerman and Madison. The other owner really likes Zimmerman but I tend to worry about zim staying healthy.

Dmenz

Madson not Madison sorry…stupid spell check

Dmenz,

Love it. Both 3B’s have been injury-prone over the course of their careers but when healthy, Longoria is simply the better fantasy contributor. What really seals the deal though is the Madson for Nathan swap, which to me is a no-brainer.

Zach

Ringkings,

Normally, I would think that now is the time to grab Puig, as it sounds like he has an excellent chance of making the Dodgers’ 25-man roster. But I just couldn’t bring myself to drop any of your current guys, factoring in both keeper value and immediate value.

Zach

Like Roy Hobbs call up, it “doesn’t figure” never hearing of this “superman” Yasiel Puig…is he worth a flyer for one of these; Matt Carpenter(1B,3B,RF), Jean Segura(SS), Teheran., Hellickson, Marco Estrada, Ian Kennedy, Josh Johnson… competitive 10 team H2H 15X15 keeper, I must think ahead. This is too deep for me to figure…thanks boys. – RingKings

All my maybe closers making hard to figure my keepers.. need help from the 411 crew.
8 team AL only roto 5×5 league 300 cap.. I can keep 8.. who would you keep?
.
C Santana $6
J Montero $5
A Dunn $5
J Middlebrooks $3
M Moustakas $9
A Gordon $6
P Bourjos $3
A DeAza $16
A Dirks $2
D Mastroiann $1
.
B Anderson $4
C Sale $11
G Perkins $2
G Balfour $4
C Janssen $6
A Reed $11
J Veras $1
.
I was thinking 5 hitters and 3 pitchers But I could go 2 starters and 2 closers but it would be hard to only keep 4 of those hitters.
Any help?
Thank You

Luke,

Wow, a lot of great choices there. My eight would be Santana, Montero, Middlebrooks, Gordon, Moustakas, Sale, Balfour and Perkins.

Zach

One of my leagues had our draft last Sunday, and my last 3 pitchers were Veras, Santos, and Cashner. I’m wondering if I should replace any of these with Bud Norris and/or Jorge De La Rosa. I know Norris could be the best pitcher on the worst team, so not chasing wins, but he intrigues me, and although I wouldn’t use him in the opener against Texas, his next 4 starts are home and away against Oakland, with one at Seattle in between, and then at home against a strikeout prone Cleveland team. And De la Rosa could be a super sleeper if he stays healthy. Santos isn’t a strong closer possibility now, and Veras seems to be pitching his way out of the role. Thoughts??

Greg,

I’d sit tight for the time being, at least until we know Santos’ true role. Norris and De La Rosa are intriguing but they’re not exactly guys worth getting all crazy about.

Zach

Hey Zach,
I hope you had a good offseason….and now we’re back at it. Ok, so I have Chase Headley as my only 3B option and he’s headed to the DL. Here is what’s left:
Marco Scutaro
Michael Young
Matt Carpenter
Mark Reynolds
Chris Johnson
Luis Cruz
Eduardo Nunez
This is a 10 team, H2H, mixed, daily league. Any suggestions?
Thanks bro.
Rich D.
