Pitch or Ditch for Wednesday, August 7

MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers at Washington Nationals

CORY’S PICKS

Happ @ Harang – great to see Happ back out there, ditch or not

Fister @ Salazar – Salazar was great in his debut, but play it safe vs. Tigers

Sabathia @ Santiago – hang with ‘em on CC?

Deduno @ TBD (KC)

Dempster @ Cosart – Cosart’s K/BB ratio says play it safe

Ogando @ Hanson

Colon @ Bailey

M. Gonzalez @ Stults – O’s have not been as scary since All-Star

Medlen @ Zimmermann

T. Wood @ Hamels

Koehler @ Morton – not a bad spot to gamble on Koehler, either

Chacin @ Harvey

Nolasco @ S. Miller

Archer @ Spruill

Gorzelanny @ Bumgarner – Gorz has been sharp since joining rotation

That St. Louis lineup is extremely dangerous, so this is a situation where the risk outweighs the reward. Agree on rest.”

5×5 roto. I was offered Rios for Strasberg. I need an OF, have plenty of Pitching. Is this fair or is Strasberg too much to give up?

Jim,

I might try to squeeze a little more out of him but it is a perfectly reasonable offer, so if it suits your needs, I don’t have a problem with it.

Is it time to give up on Adam Eaton? I understand he is still in spring training mode which would be fine if this was the month of May. You think he makes any worthwhile contribution down the stretch?

Dan,

Honestly, I’m fed up with the whole D-Backs outfield situation. They simply have too many guys for too few spots, which in turn hurts everyone’s value due to the playing time factor alone. Add in that Eaton is struggling so far and I’m not too optimistic. Still a solid keeper league option, but for this season I’m not expecting much.
