How do you believe Jose Valverde will do as the closer? I passed on him in an NL only league thinking he won’t be that good. Thanks

Robby K

In an NL-only, I would’ve taken a shot on Valverde assuming the price was reasonable, as any closer carries considerable value, and the Mets will certainly give him every opportunity to hold onto the job. How well he will fare remains to be seen though. It could very well turn out to be a disaster. This is exactly why I like to draft at least two stable closers. This waiver wire closer game can drive anyone crazy.

Ervin Santana or Tyson Ross? This is a 10t, h2h, mixed league. I know the potential and K’s are there for Ross but will Santana be a more polished pitcher?
Thanks for your help.
Rich D.

I’d lean towards Big Erv. He’s more established and I believe he’ll have a solid year pitching in the NL for the first time in his career. I think Erv has both a higher floor and a higher ceiling than Ross.
