Pitch or Ditch for Tuesday, April 15

MLB: Chicago Cubs at Pittsburgh Pirates

Odorizzi @ M. Gonzalez – sticking with Odorizzi for now
Hammel @ Tanaka (PPD) – Hammel’s first two starts were excellent and Yanks are mid-tier offense
McAllister @ An. Sanchez – playing it safe with McAllister
Beavan @ R. Ross
Peavy @ E. Johnson
Morrow @ Hughes – good matchup to roll the dice on Morrow
Ventura @ Harrell
Straily @ Richards
Hale @ Lee
Cole @ Leake
@ Koehler
S. Miller @ Estrada
Mejia @ Arroyo
Nicasio @ Erlin
Beckett @ Lincecum – toss-up on both. I’d rather live in the now

why no pitch for richards or koehler?

Not sure about the Odorizzi start. The Yankees are much better than a mid-tier offense. Yes they are middle of the pack right now, but the Twins are ranked 4th and i wouldn’t call them a top 5 offense.

I’d give it a shot but yes, it’s far from a no-brainer.

Is the category chart forthcoming?

Big Barry’s idea don’t forget! Wonder what’s happened to him on here…

Yeah, I haven’t been able to get in touch with him for awhile now…hope he’s OK.

Either later this week or early next week. There are still some fifth starters (attention Drew Smyly) who have yet to make a start, so I want to get a clearer picture of the rotations.

What am I supposed to do with Lincecum in a 12-team mixed league (quality starts not wins)? My starting pitching is not good. I can’t trade him. (1) Is he worth ditching for a chance to have an extra spot to stream? (2) Is a regular quality start from the slim pick of streaming options feasible?

He’s a hold but bench for now. The K upside and possibility that he could get on a roll would prevent me from dropping him, but I don’t see how you can start him on a regular basis. The frustrating thing about him is that he could pitch a one-hitter tonight and then get shelled in his next start…so unpredictable.

16 team mixed league who do i start.. jered weaver or tom koehler?

and also what is the deal with koji uehara?
i picked up edward mujica sort of thinking that uehara could be hurt

Weaver. Not giving up on him yet and not taking Koehler’s hot start all that seriously.

Uehara is considered day to day but picking up Mujica as insurance was a smart move.

Drop Miguel Montero & start Devin Mosoraco?

At least for the time being, I don’t have much of a problem with that since Mesoraco is red hot.

What happened to the podcasts?

Whats wrong with Bailey? Giving up homers galore. Think I have to bench him right now, rest of my staff’s doing well but he’s killing me.

And I second higgs Q above, all sounded good with Petey Mac and Corey as the new podcast team and yet it hasn’t got off the ground. Has there been an issue somewhere?

I’d continue to start Bailey, though the HR problems plus the fact that his next start will be at Wrigley Field doesn’t inspire much confidence.

Petey Mac left MLB.com, so that’s part of the issue. Stay tuned.
