Zach’s Two-Start Pitcher Notes – Week of 8/17

Rubby De La Rosa

Tanaka @ Estrada – Estrada blanked the Yanks in his last start.

King Felix @ Miley – Miley too inconsistent to trust.

Bassitt @ M. Gonzalez – Bassitt 3 ER or less in each of his seven starts this season.

Arrieta @ Quintana

Shoemaker @ Cueto – Shoemaker’s most recent outing scares me off from this one.

Williams @ Nelson – Nelson pitching well of late and this is a favorable matchup.

Tomlin @ Duffey

Corbin @ Foltynewicz – I’ll give Corbin a shot here.

Verlander @ McHugh – Verlander too risky in this matchup. McHugh a toss-up.

Morton @ Niese – Mets are hot and Morton is not.

Hand @ Lackey – Great matchup for Lackey, who has strung together 11 straight quality starts.

Archer @ Lewis

Cashner @ J. Gray – Gray worth considering in deeper leagues but I need to see a bit more.

Holmberg @ B. Anderson – I’ll give Anderson a mulligan for his last outing.

G. Gonzalez @ Peavy – Maybe Gio has finally turned the corner? Peavy has been impressive since his return.

Severino @ Hutchison – Sitting Severino totally understandable though.

Locke @ Harvey

Graveman @ W. Chen – Chen is quietly enjoying a fine season.

Nuno @ Owens – Taking a wait and see approach with Owens.

R. De La Rosa @ Miller – Favorable matchup for Rubby. Braves rank last in NL in runs scored and OPS since the All-Star break.

Haren @ Sale

Harang @ Jungmann

Carrasco @ Milone

An. Sanchez @ Fiers – This could be 2-1 or 10-9. Don’t ask me why but I’ll take the under.

Nicolino @ C. Martinez

E. Ramirez @ Gallardo – Not an ideal matchup for Ramirez.

J. Ross @ Bumgarner

DeSclafani @ Greinke

Kennedy @ Rusin – Kennedy actually has decent numbers in Coors in recent years but I’m staying away regardless.

Santiago @ Ventura

Gray @ Tillman

Gibson @ Mitchell – Still a believer in Gibson but this matchup is too tough.

Hellickson @ Cole

Salazar @ Barnes

Walker @ Hamels – Walker is back on track.

Nicolino @ Garza – Garza 3 ER or less in each of his last five starts and I like the matchup.

E. Ramirez @ Kazmir

Heston @ Wacha

Rodon @ Heaney – Rodon coming off gem but he’s been too erratic.

W. Perez @ Rea

well I benched Jackie Bradley on Saturday what a day he had the only time I benched him all week……so anyways what happens with him when Hanley returns?

There’s enough wiggle room in the Red Sox OF to leave a spot open for Bradley as long as he continues to produce consistently. That said, he’s still a sell high guy.
