Zach’s Two-Start Pitcher Notes – Week of 9/14

Tommy Milone

ZACH’S PICKS

SATURDAY

Cueto @ Tillman

Lynn @ DeSclafani

Estrada @ Pineda (Gm 1) – Going for it with both but ditching both is understandable as well. Depends on your risk tolerance and league standings.

Stroman @ Nova (Gm 2) – Playing it safe with Stroman in tough debut matchup.

Porcello @ Moore – Porcello always risky but he’s pitching well of late and Rays are the lowest scoring team in the AL.

Haren @ Eickhoff – Favorable matchup for Haren.

Davies @ Locke

Milone @ Quintana – Milone is 3-0 with a 0.87 ERA in three starts vs. White Sox this season.

Wolf @ Bauer – Bauer a toss-up but Tigers have struggled offensively since All-Star break (12th in AL in runs).

Syndergaard @ W. Perez

Roark @ Fernandez

Nolin @ Gallardo – Gallardo too inconsistent these days to trust.

Bolsinger @ R. De La Rosa – Rubby is 0-2 with a 9.19 ERA in three starts vs. Dodgers this season.

McCullers @ Santiago – Need to see at least one more solid outing from Santiago before I can start him again.

Kennedy @ Bumgarner

Flande @ Elias

SUNDAY

Dickey @ Tanaka

Boyd @ Carrasco

Wacha @ Iglesias – Sticking with Iglesias.

Scherzer @ Hand

Hill @ Smyly

Niese @ Weber – Niese has been very shaky recently but this is a very favorable matchup.

TBD (CHC) @ Harang

Jungmann @ Liriano – I was never sold on Jungmann.

Gibson @ Sale – Gibson is 2-0 with a 1.64 ERA in three starts vs. White Sox this season.

Doubront @ C. Gonzalez

Fiers @ Heaney

Rea @ Leake – Leake coming off rough outing but I’ll take a chance on him here.

Kendrick @ Paxton – Taking the conservative route with Paxton in his first start since late-May. Keep a close eye on him though.

Greinke @ Corbin

Ventura @ W. Chen – Not loving this matchup for either.

MONDAY

E. Rodriguez @ Gausman – Four straight starts of 2 ER or less for Rodriguez.

Zimmermann @ Nola

Volquez @ Carrasco

Nicolino @ Verrett – Verrett not a bad option in deeper leagues though.

Sabathia @ E. Ramirez

Kazmir @ Hamels

S. Gray @ Danks – Not much of a believer in Danks.

Lobstein @ Duffey

Shields @ Hellickson

Richards @ Walker – Walker continues to drive us crazy with his inconsistency.

J. Gray @ Kershaw

Sampson @ Hudson

So dropped grandal for flowers. Wondering if vogt is back soon as he is available

The latest news is that Vogt’s return isn’t imminent, so plan as if you will not get him back soon.

Cron or Moreland ROS

Moreland. He has the more established track record.
