ZACH’S PICKS

SATURDAY

Liriano @ Hammel – Hammel has been erratic lately but I’ll stick with him.

Holland @ McHugh – I’ve lost a lot of confidence in Holland. McHugh too inconsistent and Rangers bats are hot.

Archer @ Price

W. Chen @ TBD (BOS) – Chen has a 2.08 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in three starts vs. Red Sox this year.

Danks @ Warren

Hudson @ Zito – Would’ve been great to see this matchup in 2002.

Nola @ Strasburg – Nola has alternated good and bad starts this month. He’s due for a bad one, and I don’t like this matchup.

Harvey @ Lamb – Harvey is an automatic pitch even though there’s no guarantee he makes it through five innings here.

Duffey @ Simon – Gotta roll with Duffey while he’s hot.

Tomlin @ Medlen – Tomlin has been impressive but I’d rather play it safe here.

Teheran @ Nicolino – Teheran has a 2.45 ERA in three starts vs. Marlins this season. Nicolino a decent option in deeper leagues due to favorable matchup.

Wagner @ Garcia

B. Anderson @ Kendrick – Anderson actually pitched well at Coors earlier this year but I’ll take the conservative route at this stage of the season.

Hellickson @ Erlin

King Felix @ Heaney – Heaney 3 ER or fewer in four of his last five starts and he tossed seven shutout innings vs. M’s back in July.

SUNDAY

E. Johnson @ Severino – Johnson a sneaky play in deeper leagues versus a Yankees offense that has gone cold of late.

Andriese @ Buehrle – Buehrle a viable option in deeper leagues though if you’re chasing wins.

Big Erv @ Wolf

Miller @ Koehler – Favorable matchup for both.

deGrom @ Sampson

Jimenez @ Owens

Harang @ G. Gonzalez – Losing patience with Gio but he’s dominated the Phillies this year (2.75 ERA).

Salazar @ Young

M. Perez @ Keuchel

Cravy @ Lackey

Iwakuma @ Weaver – The consistency just hasn’t been there for Weaver this season.

Heston @ Nolin

Chacin @ Shields

Al. Wood @ Rusin – Wood’s previous start at Coors Field was a disaster. I’ll pass.

Burnett @ Arrieta – Burnett not a bad play but I don’t have a whole lot of trust in him right now.

MONDAY

Finnegan @ Scherzer

Lynn @ Happ

Estrada @ Tillman

E. Rodriguez @ Nova

Hughes @ Kluber

Verlander @ Lewis – Lewis should probably be taken seriously by now but I still don’t trust him in 12-team mixed leagues.

Ventura @ Hendricks – I’m sensing a slugfest.

Doubront @ Santiago

McCullers @ Elias – McCullers 3 ER or fewer in each of his last six starts.

Greinke @ Peavy – Peavy has a 3.40 ERA at home this season and a 2.19 ERA this month.
