Lance McCullers

Corbin @ Cole

Fernandez @ Smyly

Happ @ Sabathia – Happ coming off solid bounceback performance and Yankees offense has been inconsistent thus far.

Leake @ J. Ross – Tough matchup for Leake but he’s now allowed a combined 2 ER over his last three starts (21 IP).

J. Gray @ Buchholz – Scary matchup for Gray and I don’t trust Buchholz.

Peralta @ Wisler – Wisler has been very impressive.

Gausman @ McCullers – Playing it safe with McCullers for one more start as he continues to shake off the rust. Also note that the Orioles rank 2nd in the AL in OPS.

M. Gonzalez @ Duffy (PPD)

Hey Zach,

Would you give up on perkins at this point? I have Ramos, krod, Ziegler and vizcaino. Would be using spot to stash someone like Gallo or Arcia.

Also Liriano stats look better than watching him pitch any concerns about dropping him for someone like Lamb or Dury 3b help basically.

10 team 6×6 quality starts and OBP.

Considering that you’re well covered at closer, I don’t have a problem with you dropping Perkins to free up a roster spot.

I think the Liriano decision somewhat depends on your SP and 3B situations. But in a 10-team league, you should be able to find quality SP alternatives via the waiver wire, so I’m fine with making that move.

Hey Zach –
OPS league — Franco or Castellanos ROS/dynasty?
Thanks –

That’s a tough call. I prefer Castellanos ROS, but longer term, I think Franco will prove to be the more valuable player (higher power ceiling), so in a dynasty format, I’ll give him the edge.

Hey Zach –

Tyler White (HOU) or Mitch Moreland (TEX) for rest of season using only AVG, HR, RBI, and SB? I would like to drop one to add Devon Travis (TOR) in a keeper.

Rich D.

Moreland. I trust the track record.

You think Swihart is here to stay? I was gonna drop Grandal for him but I’m scared he won’t be around long, then I’m stuck with no catcher if someone claims Grandal. What you think ?

Definitely hang onto Grandal. Too many question marks with Swihart and Grandal is very streaky, so one has to think that he’s due for a hot stretch.

What are you thoughts on McCuller’s start tonight? He seems to be a bit of a mess: a ton of walks and pitches well outside the zone, and only sitting in the 91-92 mph range. Still like him moving forward with his next couple of starts?

The 10 K’s were nice. The 6 walks? Not so much. I think he’s a hold for now, though I wouldn’t feel comfortable starting him in mixed leagues until he shows improved control and more consistent overall results.
