Micucci and Gottlieb on today's podcast.  They'll talk Lindstrom heading to the DL (news that I was first upset about but now realize it might actually help my ERA and WHIP more than it will hurt my Saves!), the returns of Smoltz and Lidge, and Vlad's big night.

Hello guys.
Thanks to the Corys for answering my question on Sirius radio last Friday. I followed thier advice and pulled the trigger on a trade where I give Lincecum and Furcal and I get Hanley.

I had him throw in Andrew Miller into the deal as well. What are the thoughts on Andrew Miller in a 9 Team NL ONLY league?
Thanks
Tampa Pete

Hey guys. 10 Man - 8x8: Extra Catagories: 2B, BB (Hitting), K (Hitting), CG, SHO, BB (Pitching) I need to drop someone to pick up McCutchen. Should I make this move? If so, who gets the axe outta this group? Thome, Cody Ross, Chris Davis.

Hey Pete,
He's a decent choice. You can point out his 7.3 K/9 as being slightly more than decent, but it's also misleading. Only three times in 12 starts has Miller fanned six or more batters. Yet, there's been five outings where's he issued four walks. He's a great throw-in since your focus is on Hanley.

Hi Ben,
I advocated in a question from yesterday's Pitch or Ditch to keep Davis around if possible. That guy could go on a mega power frenzy in the second half. That said, he's hitting so poorly right now -- and your league is shallow enough -- that you might be able to get away with dropping him and adding him later in the year. Ross is hot enough at the plate that you have to ride it out. Considering how much Davis can hurt you in the K department, he's the one to purge to add McCutchen.

Wats up fellas, big 14 team league, with bleek options at third base. Blalock, Fields, Encarnacion, Teahan, Wiggy, Crede or someone else who is hot? Bad options I know. I have Blalock, but I think his time of shining has came and went. Him and Encarnacion (cld come back next week, is 3-14 with 2 hmrs in his rehab so far) look to me like the best options, and Im thinking Encarnacion's power cld be a slightly better option. Not in need of power, but power is power right.........
Thanks

Hey Guys
Some quick questions for ya
I have Beltre and hes looking pretty rotten and hurt right now just wondering of some third baseman you might recommend pick up. Some available are:
H Blalock
Rolen
Barmes
Coghlan
Any others you might recommend?
I have Aramis Ramirez on the DL right now
12 team h2h points league
Thanks Jordan

I am in a 10 team H2H league. Stats are R, H, RBI, HR, AVG, and OBP. I currently have Matt Weiters as my catcher, and I went all out to get him so I have been giving him the benefit of the doubt but I am growing impatient as I am sure most of his owners are. Miguel Olivo, Geovanny Soto, Russell Martin, Yadier Molina, and AJ Pierzynski are all available. Should I bail on Weiters and pick someone else up? And if so who should it be?

Aaron,

Yeah, Blalock has really faded (.182 AVG 1 HR 2 RBI in June) and it looks like Edwin is the best option of that group so once he comes back I'd definitely make the switch. I certainly don't think you'd be losing anything by doing it.

Jordan,

I don't exactly see how Beltre's been "rotten." The guy is hitting .346 in June and is a notorious second half player. He is streaky but he's also the best and safest option among that group to hold down the fort until A-Ram comes back.

Zach

zooyork,

I'm putting your question on today's podcast so stay tuned.

Hi guys, Europe calling again,
since Chris Perez is traded to the indians, what do u think about his chances of a closer role in CLE? Any chance he replaces Wood? Is he a possible SV stock?

THX! Keep it up!
Euro-Danny

Danny,

Barring an injury to Wood (always a possibility), I just don't see it. The Indians gave Wood big bucks to close for them and Perez hasn't wowed anyone this year. AL-only he's a solid pickup but mixed not so much unless you have several open spots on your roster.
